FIACONA President Bimal John met with Ambassador Sam Brownback, former U.S. Congressman and U.S. Senator and Co-Chair of the International Religious Freedom Summit, and presented him with a written briefing regarding the situation of Chhattisgarh Christian leader Arun Pannalal, who remains in prison without bail.
Bimal John requested Ambassador Brownback’s assistance in bringing greater attention to the matter through appropriate religious-freedom advocacy channels and sought the support of religious-freedom advocates.
FIACONA’s advocacy is focused on protecting religious freedom, raising awareness of humanitarian concerns, and encouraging due process. It does not seek to interfere with or influence the independent judicial process in India. We fully respect India’s judiciary and its legal procedures.
